SAN ANTONIO (November 29, 2012) – San Antonio Rampage General Manager Mike Santos announced today that the American Hockey League (AHL) club has loaned goaltender Michael Houser to the club’s ECHL affiliate, the Cincinnati Cyclones.
The Youngstown, Ohio native, who has yet to see game action this season, spent the last three years with the London Knights of the Ontario Hockey League. Last season, he won the Red Tilson Trophy as the OHL’s most outstanding player and became the first American-born goaltender to be named the league’s top netminder. Houser, 20, played in 62 of the 68 games for the Knights last season and tied the OHL record for wins in a season with 46 en route to helping his club win the Hamilton Spectator Trophy as the league’s top regular season team. In three years, Houser posted a 93-38-7 record with a 2.90 goals-against average and 0.912 save percentage in 141 games.
