Doug Jones Released From PTO

SAN ANTONIO (February 10, 2013) -- San Antonio Rampage general manager Mike Santos announced today that the American Hockey League (AHL) club has released forward Doug Jones from his professional tryout contact. Jones will return to the Gwinnett Gladiators of the ECHL.

Jones, 25, played in two games for the Rampage after joining the club on Jan. 31. The forward will return to Gwinnet where he has recorded 38 points (17 goals, 21 assists) in 47 games in his first full professional season. The 6-foot, 205-pound forward played in five games for the Gladiators last season, tallying three goals and one assist. He joined Gwinnett after wrapping up his senior year at Dartmouth College, where he played in 127 games in four years (2008-2012) and totaled 29 goals and 78 assists. Jones also played for the USHL’s Cedar Rapids RoughRiders for two seasons (2006-08) and recorded 28 goals and 60 assists in 118 games.

The Rampage will continue their Rodeo Road Trip this weekend with a three-in-three starting on Friday night with a 7:00 p.m. puck drop against Milwaukee.
