The first two games of the Kelly Cup Finals are in the books as the Alaska Aces and the Cincinnati Cyclones enter Game 3 Monday night knotted at a game apiece in the best-of-seven series.
Alaska got two goals from Jordan Morrison en route to a 5-3 win in Game 1 on Friday night. The Cyclones took a 3-1 lead midway through the second period with goals from Wade Megan, Logan Shaw and Barry Almeida, but the Aces tied the game at three by the end of the second frame and added two tallies in the third period, one on an empty net with less than 20 seconds left, to seal the win.
Cincinnati bounced back in Game 2, as Rob Madore made 35-of-36 saves in a 2-1 win. All three goals were scored in the first period as Alaska took an early 1-0 lead midway through the frame. The Cyclones answered with two goals in 21 seconds from Byron Froese and Jonathan Hazen.
Game 3 will be played Monday night at 10:15 CT, and the teams will travel to Cincinnati for Games 4 and 5 and Game 6, if necessary. Follow @CincyCyclones
