SAN ANTONIO (April 7, 2013) – San Antonio Rampage General Manager Mike Santos announced today that the American Hockey League (AHL) club has signed forward Alexander Delnov to an amateur tryout contact.
Delnov, 19, recorded 20 goals and 29 assists in 69 games in his first season for the Seattle Thunderbirds of the Western Hockey League. The rookie was fifth in team scoring (49 points) and was one of only three players on the Thunderbirds to eclipse the 20-goal plateau. The Moscow, Russia native recorded two goals and two assists in seven playoff games for the Thunderbirds, but Seattle was eliminated by the Kelowna Rockets in the first-round of the WHL playoffs on Wednesday. Delnov was drafted in the fourth round (144th overall) by the Florida Panthers in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.
The Rampage return to action today (Sunday) at 3:30 p.m. against the Texas Stars at AT&T Center on an Express-News Sunday Funday.
