SAN ANTONIO (January 6, 2014) – San Antonio Rampage General Manager Mike Santos announced today that the American Hockey League (AHL) club has recalled forward Jack Combs from the club’s ECHL affiliate, the Cincinnati Cyclones.
Combs, 25, began the season with the Rampage, adding two assists in 16 games before being loaned to Cincinnati on Dec. 14. The 5-foot-11, 200-pound left winger joined the Silver and Black at the tail end of last year, and tallied 12 goals and 19 points in 18 games to finish out the 2012-13 season. In eight games with Cincinnati this year, he’s recorded nine goals and 13 points. The St. Louis native split the majority of the 2012-13 campaign between the Colorado Eagles (ECHL) and the Bridgeport Sound Tigers before joining the Rampage in March. In 27 games with Colorado, he posted 42 points (19 goals, 23 assists) and registered five goals and nine assists with Bridgeport.
Combs began his career with the Kitchener Rangers of the Ontario Hockey League and went on to play four seasons with the Saginaw Spirit before turning pro, racking up 235 points (96 goals, 139 assists) in 298 career OHL games (2004-09).
The Rampage kick off a season-high, eight-game homestand tomorrow night, Jan. 7, against the Abbotsford Heat. The Tuesday night game falls on an All-You-Can-Eat night, where fans can purchase a ticket and unlimited hot dogs, nachos, sodas, peanuts, and popcorn for $20.
