San Antonio Rampage General Manager Brad Treliving today announced that the American Hockey League (AHL) club has assigned defenseman Nick Ross to their ECHL affiliate, the Las Vegas Wranglers.
Ross, 21, has skated in two games with the Rampage this season posting a plus-1 rating. Prior to joining the Rampage on Nov. 11, he appeared in six games with the Wranglers this season collecting two assists.
The 6-foot-1, 194-pound defenseman played in 47 games with the Rampage last season posting two assists and 19 penalty minutes. The Edmonton, Alberta native recorded an assist and two penalty minutes in seven games with the Wranglers last season. He was selected by the Phoenix Coyotes in the first round (30th overall) in the 2007 NHL Draft.
The Rampage embark on a three-in-three weekend series this Friday with their first stop in Houston at 7:35 p.m. at the Toyota Center. They will travel to Austin to take on the Stars on Saturday with a 7 p.m. puck drop and return home on Sunday to face the Milwaukee Admirals at 3 p.m. at the AT&T Center. Sundays are Express-News Sunday Fundays in which fans can get a ticket, hot dog, chips and a soda, plus a free pregame skate two hours prior to faceoff for $10.
