Rampage recall goaltender Joe Fallon

San Antonio Rampage General Manager Brad Treliving today announced that the American Hockey League (AHL) club has recalled goaltender Joe Fallon from their ECHL affiliate, the Las Vegas Wranglers.

In eight games with the Wranglers this season, Fallon owns a 4-3-1 record with a .924 save percentage and his 2.25 goals against average ranks third in the ECHL. He tallied his fourth professional shutout on Nov. 26, 2010 with 17 saves against the Ontario Reign.

Fallon, 25, spent the 2009-10 season with the Rockford IceHogs (AHL) and the Peoria Rivermen (AHL). He started last season with the IceHogs appearing in 29 games and posting a 15-10-1 record with a 2.65 goals against average and a .912 save percentage. In March of last season, Fallon was traded, along with Daryl Boyle, from the Chicago Blackhawks (NHL) to the St. Louis Blues (NHL) in exchange for Hannu Toivonen and defenseman Danny Richmond. He appeared in nine games with the Rivermen, the Blues’ AHL affiliate, posting a 4-6-0 record in nine games.

The Bemidji, Minn. native appeared in 35 ECHL games during the 2008-09 season split between the Fresno Falcons and the Gwinnett Gladiators and posted a combined record of 18-14-2 with a 2.98 goals against average and a .904 save percentage. He was recalled by the Rockford IceHogs (AHL) and appeared in two games recording 16 saves in 63 minutes. He also saw time in net with the Gladiators during their 2009 ECHL playoff run and posted a 1-2-0 record in three post-season games.

In four collegiate seasons at the University of Vermont (NCAA, 2004-08), Fallon compiled 20 shutouts, the most in Catamount history. During his first collegiate season in 2004-05, he was named ECAC Rookie of the Year and selected to the ECAC All-Rookie Team after posting a 17-10-4 record that season. Fallon accumulated a 63-51-17 record during his tenure at Vermont.

The 6-foot-3, 190-pound Fallon was selected by the Chicago Blackhawks in the sixth round (167th overall) of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.
