San Antonio Rampage General Manager Brad Treliving today announced that the American Hockey League (AHL) club has reassigned defenseman Brandon Gormley to the Rampage from Moncton (QMJHL). In addition, the Rampage have signed right wing Philip Lane to an amateur try-out offer (ATO).
Gormley,19, joins the Rampage from the Moncton Wildcats (QMJHL) where he has registered 13 goals and 35 assists in 47 games so far this season.
The Murray River, Prince Edward Island native was drafted by the Phoenix Coyotes in the first round (13th overall) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. Gormley has played in 167 career games with the Wildcats and has posted 29 goals and 89 assists for 118 points over the course of three seasons.
Lane, 18, joins the Rampage from the Brampton Battalion (OHL) where he concluded his season with 34 points (17g, 17a) along with 113 penalty minutes in 54 regular season games while also tallying one assist in four post season contests.
The 6-foot-2, 194-pound native of Rochester, New York was drafted by the Phoenix Coyotes in the second round (52nd overall) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. Lane spent one season with the Buffalo Jr. Sabres (OJHL) where he notched 18 goals and 24 assists in 45 games.
The Rampage host the Rockford IceHogs on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. at the AT&T Center.
