Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney today announced the Coyotes have recalled forwards Mathieu Beaudoin, Dane Byers, Bracken Kearns, Alexandre Picard, Viktor Tikhonov, defensemen Maxim Goncharov, Brandon Gormley, Garrett Stafford, Chris Summers and goaltender Matt Climie from their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the San Antonio Rampage.
Beaudoin, 27, led the Rampage in scoring this season 21-30-51 in 63 games. Beaudoin was signed as a free agent on July 3, 2010. He represented San Antonio at the 2011 AHL All-Star Game, recording an assist for the Western Conference All-Stars.
Byers, 25, totaled 15-31-46 in 85 games with the San Antonio, Springfield and Connecticut after being acquired from Columbus on Feb. 28. Byers finished the season with 3-9-12 in 21 games with the Rampage.
Kearns, 29, registered 20-23-43 in 72 games with the Rampage to rank sixth on the team in points and fourth in goals. The Vancouver, B.C. native set new AHL career highs in goals (20) and PIM (104). Kearns signed as a free agent on July 27, 2010.
Picard, 25, led the Rampage in goals (24) and PPG (11). He recorded 24-22-46 in 59 games with San Antonio. The Les Saules, Quebec native set AHL career highs in goals (24), assists (22) and points (46). Picard, was originally selected by Columbus in the first-round (eight overall) of the 2004 Entry Draft, he collected two assists in 67 career NHL games for the Blue Jackets.
Tikhonov, 22, recorded 10-23-33 in 60 games with the Rampage. He set new AHL career highs in goals (10), assists (23), points (33) and PIM (26). Tikhonov, registered 8-8-16 in 61 games with the Coyotes in 2008-09; he was Phoenix’s second choice (first-round, 28th overall) in the 2008 Entry Draft.
Goncharov, 21, appeared in 61 games for the Rampage this season, recording 6-9-15 in his first professional season in North America. He was Phoenix’s fifth choice (fifth-round, 123rd overall) in the 2007 Entry Draft.
Gormley, 19, appeared in 47 games for the Monton Wildcats (QMJHL) recording 13-35-48. He also scored a goal in four games for San Antonio. He was Phoenix’s first choice (first-round, 13th overall) in last summer’s Entry Draft.
Stafford, 31, led all defensemen in scoring 14-32-46 in 65 games for San Antonio. He set a new AHL career high in goals (14). Stafford, who signed with the Coyotes as a free agent on July 3, 2010, appeared in two games with Phoenix this season. He has tallied two assists in seven career NHL games with Phoenix, Dallas and Detroit.
Summers, 23, appeared in 75 games for the Rampage, recording 1-9-10. He appeared in two games with the Coyotes this season, collecting four PIM. Summers was Phoenix’s second choice (first-round, 29th overall) in the 2006 Entry Draft.
Climie, 28, posted a record of 26-22-3 with a 2.64 GAA and a .913 SV% in 55 games with San Antonio this season. He also recorded three shutouts and collected three assists for the Rampage. Climie made his NHL debut with the Coyotes on Dec. 20 at Pittsburgh. He signed with the Coyotes as a free agent on July 3, 2010.
