Monday Moments from the 2010-11 Rampage season

Each Monday throughout the offseason, sarampage.com will unveil a top highlight from the 2010-11 season.

This week’s Monday Moment came on March 4, 2011 when the Rampage scored a season-high five third period goals to rally back from a 4-0 deficit to force overtime before eventually losing 6-5 to the Texas Stars at Cedar Park Center.

9/5: This week’s Monday Moment came on February 26, 2011 when the Rampage tallied a 3-2 shootout victory over the Texas Stars and improved to 6-0 in shootouts as 10,447 fans welcomed the team home from their month-long Rodeo road trip in celebration of Military Appreciation Night at the AT&T Center.

8/29: This week’s Monday Moment came on February 18, 2011 when Brett MacLean scored his first career hat trick to become the 10th player in franchise history to score three goals in a game in a 4-2 win at Syracuse. In the same game, MacLean scored the second penalty shot goal in team history and the first since Feb. 2, 2008, ironically also at Syracuse.

8/22: This week’s Monday Moment came on February 4, 2011 when the Rampage opened their ninth annual Rodeo road trip in style with two third period goals to spark a come-from-behind 4-3 win over the Lake Erie Monsters at Quicken Loans Arena.

8/15: This week’s Monday Moment came on January 28, 2011 when Mikkel Boedker scored two goals and tallied an assist to lead the Rampage to a 4-1 victory over the Chicago Wolves on pink ice in front of a franchise record 14,339 fans at the team’s first-ever Pink in the Rink Night at the AT&T Center. The victory assured the Rampage their first-ever season series win against the Wolves in nine years.

8/8: This week’s Monday Moment came on January 26, 2011 when the Rampage defeated the Abbotsford Heat 4-2 in front of 8,415 kids at the Rampage’s first-ever Cool School Kids Day game at the AT&T Center. 

8/1: This week’s Monday Moment came on January 21, 2011 when the Rampage rallied back from a 3-0 deficit in Milwaukee and scored four third period goals to stun the Admirals 7-5 at the Bradley Center. The Rampage’s seven goals marked a season high.

7/25: This week’s Monday Moment came on January 8, 2011 when Matt Climie stopped all 28 Houston shots to shutout the Aeros for the second time of the season with a 4-0 win at the AT&T Center.

7/18: This week’s Monday Moment came on December 29, 2010 when Matt Watkins tallied his first professional hat trick to help the Rampage defeat the Oklahoma City Barons 5-3 at the AT&T Center. The win pushed the Rampage to 14 games above .500 for the second time of the season at 23-9-1-0.

7/11: This week’s Monday Moment came on December 19, 2010 when the Rampage defeated the Hamilton Bulldogs 5-4 at the AT&T Center for their first win against the Bulldogs since Oct. 28, 2006 and headed into the holiday break with a franchise-best record of 22-8-1-0.

7/4: This week’s Monday Moment came on December 18, 2010 when Brett MacLean recorded his 134th career point to become the Rampage’s all-time point leader in a 4-2 win at Oklahoma City.

6/27: This week’s Monday Moment came on December 8, 2010 when Matt Climie stepped in for Al Montoya, who left the game due to injury in the first period, to lift the Rampage to a 5-2 win at Chicago for their first victory in Rosemont since Jan. 7, 2009.

6/20: This week’s Monday Moment came on December 5, 2010 when Mathieu Beaudoin scored 2:35 into overtime to lift the Rampage to a 3-2 win at Grand Rapids and complete a three-in-three road sweep.

6/13: This week’s Monday Moment came on December 3, 2010 when Brett MacLean scored his 61st career Rampage goal in a 2-1 win at the Texas Stars to become San Antonio’s all-time leading goal scorer, surpassing Joel Perrault.

6/6: This week’s Monday Moment came on November 26, 2010 when the Rampage tied a franchise record with their seventh consecutive win with a 5-3 victory against the Houston Aeros at Toyota Center. 

5/30: This week’s Monday Moment came on November 19, 2010 when the Rampage were slotted to host the Milwaukee Admirals at 7:00 p.m. However, the game officially got under way at 7:56 p.m. due to issues with the Zamboni. The Rampage fired a season-high 52 shots on goal to defeat the Admirals 4-3 in a shootout for their sixth win in a row and fourth in a row on home ice.

5/23: This week’s Monday Moment came on November 9, 2010 when the Rampage erupted for three third period goals to snap a 3-3 tie and defeat the Oklahoma City Barons 6-3 for San Antonio’s first win in a season-long and franchise record-tying seven-game win streak.

5/16: This week's Monday Moment came on October 23, 2010 when Rampage goaltender Matt Climie posted a 26-save shutout, his first in a Rampage uniform, to claim San Antonio’s first win of their 10-game season series with the Houston Aeros with a 2-0 victory.

5/9: This week's Monday Moment came on October 22, 2010 when Tim Stapleton scored his first two goals in a Rampage uniform to lead San Antonio to a 4-1 victory in their first-ever game against the Oklahoma City Barons at Cox Convention Center.

5/1: This week's Monday Moment came on October 17, 2010 when the Rampage notched two goals within three minutes to take the game to a shootout where they defeated the Lake Erie Monsters in five rounds. The win ended a three-game losing streak and sparked a six-game win streak.

4/25: This week's Monday Moment came in the Rampage's season opener on October 8, 2010. In his Rampage debut, Mathieu Beaudoin scored two goals and two assists to tie a franchise record of four points in a single game. Beaudoin helped the Rampage to their first victory of the season with a 6-3 win over the Chicago Wolves.
