The Rampage were held scoreless in a 4-0 loss to West Division rival Texas Stars on Sunday afternoon at the AT&T Center. Stars goalie Richard Bachman stopped all 29 Rampage shots for his second shutout of the season.

The Stars took an early 1-0 lead with a goal by center Travis Morin just one minute after the initial faceoff.  Stationed to Rampage goaltender Brian Foster’s left, Morin received a pass through the slot from right wing Raymond Sawada and took a shot that was denied by Foster. Morin then picked up his own rebound and lifted the puck over Foster and into the net for his fourth goal of the season. Rookie forward Matt Fraser tallied his 11th point of the season on the play with a secondary assist.

Texas extended their lead to 2-0 at 12:25 of the second period when left wing Francis Wathier deflected a shot from the blue line by defenseman Brenden Dillon and past Foster for the score. Defenseman Maxime Fortunus also assisted on Wathier’s fourth goal of the campaign.

Tomas Vincour widened the Texas lead to 3-0 with just five seconds remaining in the middle frame. His second goal of the year came on a Stars power play and was the result of a setup by center Ryan Garbutt. After taking a pass from Wathier, Garbutt made a move to the slot from the right circle and passed to Vincour on the left side while falling to the ice. Vincour snapped a shot into an open left side of the net and gave Texas a three-goal lead.

The Stars’ fourth goal came from Luke Gadzic midway through the third period. Colton Sceviour fed Gadzic after crossing the blue line and Gadzic wristed a shot that beat Foster over the right shoulder for a 4-0 Texas lead. Fortunus notched his second assist of the day with the additional helper on the goal.

The Rampage embark on their first out of state road trip this Thursday and Friday  to play a back-to-back set against the Lake Erie Monsters at Quicken Loans Arena.
