Panthers assign Howden to Rampage; Rampage sign Shaw

Florida Panthers Executive Vice President & General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that the club has assigned left wing Quinton Howden to their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the San Antonio Rampage. In addition, the Rampage have signed right wing Logan Shaw to an amateur try-out (ATO).

Howden, 20, posted 30 goals, 35 assists, and a rating of plus-10 in 52 regular season games with the Moose Jaw Warriors (Western Hockey League) this season. He also added five goals, 10 assists, and a rating of plus-7 in 14 playoff contests. In five seasons with Moose Jaw, the 6-foot-3, 183-pound Howden totaled 111 goals, 128 assists, and a minus-10 rating in 244 games. The Oak Bank, Manitoba native was selected by the Panthers in the first round (25th overall) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.

Shaw, 19, recorded a combined 20 goals, 21 assists, and a rating of minus-23 in 60 games this year with the Quebec Remparts and the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. He also registered six goals, five assists, and a plus-2 rating in 11 playoff contests. In four seasons in the QMJHL, the 6-foot-3, 190-pound Shaw totaled 60 goals, 59 assists, and a minus-35 rating in 244 games. The Glace Bay, Nova Scotia native was selected by the Panthers in the third round (76th overall) of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.

The Rampage begin their Western Conference Semifinal series against the Oklahoma City Barons on Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Cox Center.
